The deductible for a BlueStar Certified Pre-Owned vehicle service contract is similar to the deductible that your insurance company charges you, only it is probably a lot lower. If your vehicle is ever in an accident and needs repairs, insurance pays for the repairs and you are only responsible for your deductible. With extended vehicle protection, if your vehicle breaks down you are only responsible for your deductible, which is only $100.

Odds are when you bought your car, it came with a warranty guarantee, either from the manufacturer or from the dealer, that your car would stay in good working condition for a certain number of miles or a certain amount of time. Unfortunately, most big-ticket repairs and breakdowns happen after the manufacturer's warranty has run out. That's where an extended auto warranty comes in. An extended auto warranty is just what it sounds like: an extension above and beyond the coverage offered by your manufacturer or dealer. BlueStar uses the terms 'Warranty' and 'Extended Warranty' with 'Vehicle Service Contract' and 'Extended Service Contract' for marketing purposes only. A Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) is often referred to as an "auto warranty" or an "extended car warranty," but it is not a warranty. A VSC does, however, provide repair coverage for your vehicle after the manufacturer’s car warranty expires. A VSC is a contract between you and a VSC provider or administrator that states what is a covered repair and what is not.

All extended protection plans (beyond 3 months) include roadside assistance which offers emergency no matter where you are in the U.S. or Canada. If your vehicle breaks down, has a flat tire, needs a jump or water, or even if you just lock your keys in the car, just call 866.918.1438. and someone will be there to help.

Every BlueStar Certified Pre-Owned Protection Plan comes with a full 30-day unconditional money-back guarantee. We consider your first 30 days with a new extended auto warranty a "review period." Take your time, read through your policy and discuss it with your spouse and family. We're confident that you will be satisfied with your extended auto protection plan. However, if you decide for any reason that this isn't the extended auto warranty for you, simply call our customer service line. As long as you haven't used your policy during those 30 days, we'll be happy to refund your money and cancel your policy. Down the road, if you decide that you no longer need the protection plan, you may cancel and get a pro-rated refund less a small cancellation fee and the total amount of authorized claims, if any.

If you buy a 7-year plan and decide to sell your vehicle after 3 years, you can include a 4-year protection plan when you market it online. Used car buyers can be wary of buying from a private party. But if you include a BlueStar current condition report along with 4 years of vehicle protection, your vehicle will stand out and can fetch a higher price because you can offer what other sellers cannot – peace of mind.

They'll dispatch help right away, no matter where you are in the U.S. or Canada. If your vehicle can't be repaired on the spot, we'll help you get it to a licensed mechanic of your choice.

Stated Coverage: These kinds of contracts state a list of components /parts that are covered. If a part is not on the list, it is not covered. These plans can be great, but you need to know what you are getting. Vehicles are complicated pieces of machinery, and there are a lot of parts their plans won’t cover. You may think you’re protected, but when your claim is denied because the part that failed did not make the list, you’ll be in for a surprise. You may suffer a breakdown of a part not listed if it is not part of the long list of covered components. This is why we encourage, where possible, our customers to choose our Level 4 Exclusionary Coverage.

Exclusionary Coverage: BlueStar’s Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Protection Level 4 Program protects you by giving you a short list of things that are not covered. It is basically as close to factory-level coverage that you can get. That is so much easier to understand! You don’t need to be a car expert to know if something is covered or not. Not all vehicles will qualify for Level 4 because of age and mileage. However, if your vehicle qualifies, Level 4 Exclusionary Coverage is the way to go.
